As you might know – the POPIA-Act regarding the safeguard of your personal information will come effective as from 1 July 2021. Melville Kruisgemeente together with Melville Ikhaya has to comply with this act.
Safeguarding your personal information consists of obtaining your information and to ensure the use thereof in a safe and responsible manner. The POPIA-act deems your personal information as “precious goods” and gives you the choice to manage and protect your information.
Melville Kruisgemeente and Melville Ikhaya uses the following communication platforms and databases. The information that we might have on record for you, are managed by the Church Office, Pastors, Youth Worker and Financial Officer:

Surname, Full Names, Date of Birth, Id number, Street address, Postal Address, Home Telephone Number, Cell phone number, E-mail address, Status of membership, Marriage status, Date of marriage, Involvement in Church activities, Family Ties eg. Head, child etc., Occupation/School, Male/Female, Religious belief.
DEBIT ORDER
Financial Information for the purpose of the monthly debit order activation.
WEEKLY BULLETIN
Notice to Melville Ikhaya with regards to Ministry involvement. Sharing of important dates/activities/meetings. Sharing of stories and testimonies as well as feedback about activities in the congregation and community. Sharing of important announcements.
HARD COPIES
Youth Ministry: Information of parents and children (name, surname, cell phone numbers, e-mail address, birthdays, school, grade and address). Notes with regards to prayer requests and personal discussions.

Should you wish to have your information, (as well as that of your children under the age of 18), removed from our database or not be used for any of the above reasons, indicate this by sending us a note to kantoor.melvillekruisgemeente@gmail.com by 1 July 2021.
We will then remove your information on our database as well as on any of the other communication platforms that Melville Kruisgemeente and Melville Ikhaya uses:
❑ I hereby give permission that Melville Kruisgemeente and Melville Ikhaya can use my personal information to send me communication;
❑ I hereby request that Melville Kruisgemeente and Melville Ikhaya remove my information from all their communication platforms and that I no longer receive any of the communication from them.
You are welcome to alternatively send the Church Office a written note to request your preference;
